Via Ferrata
The via ferrata on the Pockkogel leads up the steep northeast flank to 2,807 meters. About 650 meters of steel cable, exposed sections, and impressive granite make this route an alpine adventure for experienced via ferrata climbers.
Challenging in Two Sections
A C+ difficulty section awaits you right from the start. The second section increases in difficulty up to grade D and demands strength, technique, and concentration. In return, the summit rewards you with a sweeping panorama of the surrounding Alpine ranges.
Tour Information
- Starting point: DreiSeenBahn upper station, 2,410 m
- Approach: marked trail, about 20 minutes to the trailhead
- Summit: Pockkogel, 2,807 m
- Total walking time: about 4 hours
- Descent: marked trail via the Finstertaler Reservoir to the DreiSeen Hut
Safety First
Sure-footedness, a head for heights, a helmet, and a full set of via ferrata gear are required.
Mountain experience is strongly recommended; if you’re unsure, you should undertake the tour with a certified alpine instructor or mountain guide.
Equipment can be rented at the DreiSeenBahn valley station.

The Kühtai Panorama Via Ferrata winds through the high-alpine rocky landscape in two varied sections, leading to the Pockkogel at 2,807 meters.
