Are the alpine roses blooming yet?
That’s the standard question asked by connoisseurs as summer approaches. Kühtai is nestled in the heart of a botanical garden at an elevation of over 2,000 meters. From mid-June to mid-July, this alpine flower species—also known as the alpine rose—blooms, blanketing the mountain slopes with its crimson splendor. This coincides perfectly with the hiking season in Kühtai. Numerous hiking trails lead right past the colorful alpine flowers, which not only delight the eye—the scent of alpine roses fills the already crisp mountain air!
An unforgettable experience
Along the slopes dotted with pink and rust-red flowers, you can choose between leisurely short walks and longer hikes lasting 1 to 3 hours: high-altitude panoramic hikes, hikes to the Finstertaler Reservoir, to the DreiSeen Hut and the Plenderlessee lakes, to Hirschebensee, or to the Längentaler Reservoir, followed by a tour of the pumped-storage power plant.
