During the Kühtai Mountain Summer, every trail becomes an adventure. Lakes, animals, playgrounds, and family-friendly hikes ensure that even the youngest guests will enjoy getting out and about. And because many destinations are easily accessible via the DreiSeenBahn, you’ll have more energy left for exploring.

Family Trails

Short distances, exciting destinations, and plenty of nature make Kühtai the perfect place for family hiking trips. Tours to lakes and mountain huts are especially popular, offering water, wildlife, and varied scenery for natural entertainment.

Three Lakes Loop – approx. 5.6 km, 2 hours; includes a ride up the mountain and the KühPlayground
Längental Reservoir – approx. 2.4 km, 45 minutes
High-Altitude Panorama Trail to the Finstertaler Reservoir – approx. 4.4 km, 1 hour 40 minutes
Kühtaier Village Loop – approx. 4.4 km, 1 hour 30 minutes

When choosing a route, please always consider your age, fitness level, and current trail conditions. Even on family-friendly trails, you’ll be hiking in alpine terrain.

Cool Playground

The DreiSeenBahn takes you up to 2,410 meters; from there, it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the DreiSeen Hut.

Right in front of the terrace, the KühPlayground awaits with an extraordinary play world: oversized KÜHTAI letters, a walk-through mother cow with calf standing about 6.5 meters tall, and wooden marble runs featuring playful elements inspired by alpine farming.

Climb, swing, slide, play hide-and-seek—and experience the mountain world from a whole new perspective.

Icelandic horses

You can also explore the mountain scenery around Kühtai on horseback. Starting in June, guided horseback rides are offered daily on gentle, sure-footed Icelandic horses—for beginners as well as advanced riders.

The location is at the Mareil Alpine Farm, between Kühtai and Ochsengarten.
